Muon Space Appoints Chief Product Officer and Head of Strategy as Company Scales Constellation Operations

October 8, 2026 by donmcgee

On October 8, 2026, satellite platform developer Muon Space announced the expansion of its executive leadership team with the appointments of Jody Kelman as Chief Product Officer and Emelia Probasco as Head of Strategy and Communications.

The executive additions support Muon Space’s operational shift from custom satellite engineering to industrial-scale constellation manufacturing and managed orbital services.

Kelman joins Muon Space to direct the company’s product organization, transforming satellite mission capabilities into standardized commercial platforms. Kelman previously spent nearly a decade at Lyft, serving as Executive Vice President of Customers and leading autonomous vehicle, fleet, and B2B operations. Probasco brings experience across national security policy and emerging defense technologies to guide corporate strategy and institutional relationships.

Operational Scaling and Manufacturing Infrastructure

Jody Kelman joins as Chief Product Officer at Muon Space.

The leadership additions align with a period of operational scaling at Muon Space’s 130,000-square-foot Mission Foundry manufacturing facility in San Jose, California. Following its workforce expansion and manufacturing transition to support a multi-mission satellite manifest, the company has advanced constellations across commercial and government programs, including the Earth Fire Alliance’s FireSat wildfire monitoring network and U.S. Space Force prototype missions. Additionally, the company recently introduced its Condor-Ultra heavy-lift satellite platform to support in-orbit compute applications.

Executive Perspective

“Muon is at a pivotal moment. Satellite technology can do extraordinary things, but today only a relatively small set of customers know how to take advantage of it. We have the chance to change that,” said Jody Kelman, Chief Product Officer at Muon Space. “I’ve spent my career helping make complex technologies useful and accessible to many more people, from ridesharing to autonomous vehicles, and I’m excited to do that again at Muon.”

Commercial Productization and Outlook

As Muon Space scales its vertically integrated Halo spacecraft bus and software orchestration tools, the leadership team will focus on productizing mission hardware to accelerate constellation deployment for commercial enterprises and defense agencies.
